It pains me to think of a day and age when people lived pre-sandwich, when ingredients were traditionally segregated upon plates and sliced bread had yet to be invented. Thankfully I recovered a bit by compiling this post.

Behold, some vegetarian/vegan lunches and dinners we made at home and enjoyed with our mouths and bellies over the past few years. This is part of a short series that will catch up on past home-cooked dining experiences before I start posting current meals.
Mostly organic, mostly vegan*, mostly on the same plates.
Sorry, no recipes.** I didn’t much like rules back in these largely spontaneous and experimental cooking days shared here.
We made these meals with what was in the pantry and fridge, a few minutes of forethought, some fire, a feeling of goodwill toward the animal kingdom, and the inspiration of our appetites.
*Some of these were made when we were still vegetarian and not fully vegan. I included only ones I recall to have been vegan, but I don’t have a time machine so can’t swear on anyone’s grave about it.
**I’ll be sure to include ingredients and recipes with future creations, though.
Part 6: ‘Wiches + Whatnot
Pressed avocado sandwich + “Justin Timberlake’s Hair Circa 1998.”
“The Seedling Sandwich” + cornbread.
Bagelwich + side of “Fruit Fortress.”
Tempeh + shredded carrot + mozzarella-ish pressed sandwich + sweet corn/cabbage/peppers.
Dinnerfast waffle sammich + avocado + scrambled tofu + spicy tomato berry chutney.
Remove sticks and shells with hands. Remove the rest with oral mastication function.
“Cheezy Hoagie with Organic Mac, Please” (C.H.O.M.P.)
Sundried tomato soy bratwurst + cherry tomatoes + spinach + mushroom mix.
Cream cheeze + steamed garlic balsamic asparagus + pico de gallo + open face toast.
Cowless burger + birdless stuffing.
Baked biscuit sammies topped with green bell peppers + bread ‘n butter pickles + white onion + soy bacon + cheeze.
“Eastern Medicine Burger.” Marinated raisin/carrot/onion slaw + spinach + sweet mango chutney + curry veggie/potato burger.
“Sloppy Faux Joes.”
Grilled cheeze sandwich + baked cheeze mac.
